Super Hero Lineart

A lineart version of a super hero flying through the air. I'll be doing three versions of the character, lineart, vector and comic book style. I made this initial version in Photoshop using my Wacom tablet. Did a few revisions until I got the stance where I wanted. Then I dropped a new layer and laid down some nice clean lines.

Lizard Man Blocking Arrows

A digital illustration of a lizard man blocking some arrows with his shield. He wields a Khopesh, an Egyptian sword... because, well, why not, he's already a lizard dude. The file is digitally inked and colored completely in Photoshop. No pencil work on this one, it started on my Wacom Tablet and stayed that way.

Justice Illustration

I've decided to create a portfolio piece. Specifically a vector piece done in a sort of Art Nouveau style. I began with a sketch of a naked lady justice surrounded by a flowing ribbon (for modesty) and sword and scale.

After the sketch was done I traced the image with the pen tool and added some texture. The original layout was going to have clouds, but once I got into the details it looked better with a physical frame. I created a decorative crescent based on one I saw in my research.

After the vector layout was done I touched up the color in Photoshop a bit and finally the file came out like this:

I recently did a piece involving hatched lines and some tonal washes. I began with a paper drawn sketch and used the marked out perspective to lay down the initial outlines on the digital piece. I think the effect of using hatching as texture and adding gray tones for shading is something I'll poke at more.

Pinup Painting

I've been working on realistic paintings, trying to increase my range a bit. Normally I do vector illustrations and some cartoony stuff. Here is a pinup of a woman with a cutting torch. She is dangerously under-dressed, so please, if cutting sheet metal at home, wear appropriate clothing.
